The St Katherine & Wapping Safer Neighbourhood Ward Panel are locally based community/police engagement and consultation groups managed by residents and supported by the Police. Their primary function is to understand the concerns and problems Residents have and represent them directly to the Police and Local Council. Their website has links for reporting anti-social behaviour to the relevant authorities as well as information on other topics such as the Wapping Bus Gate.
In Capital Wharf we have external CCTV backed up by a recording system and 24 hour concierge cover. Nevertheless, it is important that all residents help to ensure that security is not compromised:
- Normally the concierge will open the door to visitors and telephone your flat to establish that you are in and are happy to receive the visitor.
- If a visitor has rung your bell confirm their identity BEFORE RELEASING THE DOOR. Never let in people you do not know personally, however plausible they may sound.
- Make sure that you ensure all doors to the garage and outside are fully closed after use and never fix them open.
- Please note that persons seeking entry in the absence of the lawful resident may be admitted only if proper notice has been received from that resident.
- Support the concierge to fulfil his strict instructions regarding entry to the building.
